Love your style of decorating. I have 2 cabinets on either side of my fire place. One is painted and the other is a wood entertainment center. Should they both be painted the same color. The entertainment center is larger and it always looks so unbalanced.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
ReplyDeleteYou could paint them the same color to add balance and a sense of cohesiveness. Or you could create balance by bringing a large item over to the smaller cabinet. Perhaps a large lantern, ottoman or basket on the floor...I would also suggest using a few larger pieces to accessorize within the smaller cabinet instead of a lot of little pieces.
If you would like some more feed back email me some pics of the room.
Thanks for stopping by,
Holly

ReplyDeletelooking to add a space of color to my safe room, got some great ideas
ReplyDeleteI have tried to open the links for projects, and nothing opens. Not sure what is wrong. :-(
ReplyDeleteWell done! What a difference. I am about to take on a similar project at my cottage. Dark knotty pine walls with a shiny layer of varnish. Looking back on this project, would you have done anything differently? I am debating on using bin and paint OR cutting 8-inch strips of underlayment and doing horizontal shiplap. (I did this at my house and love it) I think they would probably take about the same amount of time, especially if I need to paint and prime a number of coats. Thanks.
